Music in Vista
Hello, I have been running I of the Dragon in Vista and I have also tried the configuration tool on this site, yet I cannot get the music to run in the game. Other sounds function fine, but music is dead.
I am also using a soundblaster XFi soundcard we well with the alchemist patch/fix.
Has anyone and idea how to get music to function please?

AW: Music in Vista
maybe the game gets the music from your game cd.
have you check if the sound volume is enabled ?
try to play a music cd if you hear something.

Re: Music in Vista
I got the game with a collection of other games in a "Best of RPG" from Virgin medai stores (least I think it was them - or HMV) and the game has always run without the disk. The music files are on my harddrive and I can run them manually out of the game - though they appear not to triggor at any stage of the gameplay - which means whilst I could run the music manually you don't get any of the ambiance auto switching - eg to battle music.

maybe another user can help you in this case.
have you download all patches for the game ?

Re: Music in Vista
official webpage lists no patches available - and the only one I could find was codecs for the video scenes - which I am having no problem with.
are there any other patches out there?

Yes, there are realy no patches for TIOTD
And i dont have Vista so i cant reproduce your Problem and if the files are on your HD and Music is enabled i dont know for the moment why they dont play. :/
Have you an onboard soundchip? Maybe try to deactivate your soundcard and use only the onboard Sound.

Re: Music in Vista
Thanks for the suggestions - my drivers are up to date, though Creative appear to be doing very badly for Vista sound support currently!
I will try turning off the card though and running from the motherboard and see if that works!
