I, having apProblem playing the saved game on multiplayer

Problem playing the saved game on multiplayer.
My friend and i played for a few hours but we could not finish a game... i saved the game. then the next day on the bottom of the scenarios there are the saved games. I chose the one i wanted but it does not allow us to pick any colors... does anyone know how to fix that or if is impossible can you let me know.
