Similar to a german thread I would like to inform you about all known facts about Patch 1.5. There is already one thread, but this one is more official.
Patch 1.5 will be released on 21. August 2007. It will be more a Service Release, bringing many new features to the game, here are a few of them:
The Update will be already included in the UK/US/AUS version, this counts also for the Xbox 360.

Looking forward to the summons following and manual targeting for magic the most. As a necromancer these were horribly annoying.

Very very very glad for update in 360 version, I don't mind waiting personally so long as it comes out right. Thank you Reality Pump.

You don't need to restart, as the changes that would require the restart are minor.

Cool, very nice idea to feed the anticipation.
Speaking of that, any sneak peak in the direction whether the game has become more difficult/balanced or at least whether there are more difficulty levels/options ?greetings youngneil1 |

Just looking at the new faces made me think we were talking about two different games
![]() They are a HUGE improvement!!! Tell us more propheet... hows the alchemy? Can u use more than three spells? I see that rare items and spawning foxes/beavers are taken care of... What about spirit damage can you protect against that now? Also as I am well known to be booster cursed, the new buying options give me hope ![]() Great news for summoners as well! Danny |

" Bandits, for instant, will almost always be scaled to your level, and their loot will grow even faster than yours - so beware of those thieving scoundrels, they can crush you quite easily!" looks like a Gothic 3 boars.

I believe that continuous leveling the player's strength during battle with ALWAYS STRONGER opponents has its + but mostly its - since it's somewhat tiresome to reach better levels just to taste the pleasure of relatively easy victory and, instead, you'll ALWAYS be the victim of life resurrection or game restore with some thief's blows.... TIRESOME !!!!
![]() Please consider leaving 1.4's scaling untouched, as it gives more justice to multi-hour gaming pleasure. P.S. I just hope that corpses with loot remain still in their place after player's teleportation on site...

Remember, because an enemy scales with a character, it doesn't mean that its as hard to beat as your character is.
Example of POSSIBLE scaling algorithms: Enemy A = Enemy A = Level of player -1 Enemy A = Physical Damage Potential of Player - 300 Enemy A = Match skills of player - 1 point per category Enemy A = AI Fighting Style "B" This is just an Example, but it shows that - whatever type of Enemy this is, he'll be closely matched to your potential, but as the human player tends to outwit the AI player in any game, your chances are good to overcome him with ease. Where you may boost / double up on spells / buffs to overcome the enemy, his fighting AI style may not use those same buffs / spell combos. So again, you are a leg up on the AI. The value in this kind of system is that the player never "one hit kills" whatever enemy type "Enemy A" is. As a designer, regardless of how good you get as a Mercenary, "Enemy A" is always a threat if left unchecked. Since we play a Mercenery, we could easily imagine Enemy A being a Mercenary, Rogue for Hire, Retired Adventurer, etc. I'm most definitely PRO intelligent scaling. I also understand fully that scaling does not mean long battles everytime. It does mean longevity in game play and an avoidance in redundent meaningless one-hit-kills against any and all foes. Cheers, Tac |
