Great, been waiting for those MP changes.
What about Steam users? Is Steam going to update the game, or we have to do it manually? |

One of the updates says:
Critical hit skill fixed (faster animations added) does that means that now I can actually use that skill, as it was not working before? |

MP too much skillpoints generated due to combat stats - fixed
No, now its broken. I played for 2 hours, made lots of kills and never got any skillpoint at all. Without this bonus we only get 1 skillpoint when we level. It would take 80-100 levels to get decent skill stats. Way too long! So pleeaasse fix this! |

Hi fellows,
concerning critical hit, there is now a new sound and effect if you land a critical hit. And damage on that hit is really signifcantly increased. Very nice. Ah, and new horse control is awesome - the turning radius of the horse is really small now, which results in great handling of the horse. So, again, big thanks to RP and all involved for the new patch. greetings youngneil1 |

Guys at southpeak, you guys did an outstanding job on the improvments, granted there still more fine tuning to do, in the small lags in the multiplayer, but everything else was super.
the horse ride is far better then the old controls, and for those who complain that its requires more work to get skills point, stop crying, because thats why games like WOW sux because it to noobie, work hard and make this game more worth it. I think there should be a wishlist for 2008 to improve and also to what to add on. I personally think it should be an MMO only in the cities so that way people can still find other players in stead that whole make a room. not voice chat in the city, just text like FFXI until your in a party then can use the headset, have icons by gamertags to tell them if your looking for a party and do trades with alot of players. I really think this game can go another level if they try to look at these options or come with something close. by the way, did I say thank you, if not then thank you! Just to let you know I was talking about the XBOX360 version Last edited by nervusBD : 20.11.2007 at 04:04 Reason: to give more info |

I'm using version 1.5 (US) single-player, PC
Will I have to start a new game for the patch to take effect? |

PvE should never be changed to satisfy PvP. PvP Balances break the PvE game.
Why can't any game developer figure this out? |

Can't say I like the trapped chest system. With low skills on lockpicking and no way to gain enough skillpoints almost every chest blows up in my face. And mostly they don't contain any nice stuff at all.

ok the deal with the chests is really strange, 75% chance to open a master lock and after 100 lockpicks its still not open? and various other master chests take 5 or 6 to open. I think they made a mistake on how difficult they should be, bombs are fine just dont brick my equipment inside.

Yes they broke Lockpicking needlessly just like the broke Necro Power needlessly, an exploding chest nearly kills you every time. they also put a lock on EVERY container in the first area which IMO is stupid.
Trapped containers with no way of telling which ones are trapped? Bad form. Even early D&D games and Diablo 1 had a detect trap skill. Also if coded properly the spells should have separate PvP effects from PvE. I'll use Necro Power as an example: In PvE: Spell does exactly as the old Necro Power did, Healing while dealing DoT to the enemy. In PvP: How it is now, Lower damage and not much healing. This way when the spell is used on a real player it behaves differently but when used on a monster or non-player character it behaves as it did before. No need to break your spell system to satisfy PvP'ers you can have it both ways and both sides are happy. Unfortunately since the game wasn't coded that way from the ground up it's now going to be difficult to implement. |

Sorry if this has been asked before, but has some testing gone into the working of v1.5 save games with the new patch? (Single Player obviously).

....Let me get this straight, the fixed a few of the outstandingly broken things and made changes to satisfy the hardcore PKers in PvP, but wrecked PvE? Sounds like I won't be purchasing Two Worlds: Temptation in the future.
Unless of course they reinstate the 1.5 PvE settings (stats and skills) one way or another. Perhaps make an ammendment to the options screen? Allow players to select which way they wish to play? Few skill points or many/tons of stats or few/extremely powerful equipment or less so gear/limited spell boosters or unlimited/trapped chests or not trapped chests/unlimited equipment class or the new cap/mage sucks for PvP because they can't do jack against a fighter except run away and hide or they are powerful as magic users are supposed to be/old lockpicking rates or never again open a chest and/or have it kill you/etc... I originally purchased this game because of the nigh-unlimited potential for character growth and development. I see that this has been taken away from the game, leaving another sub-standard rpg which has been unduly nerfed by it's developers to please a minority. To find out what a majority of players (who DON'T post in forums) want to happen to a game, try holding IN-GAME polls over extended periods of time (allowing one vote per account to prevent cheating). To hell with PvP, preserve PvE! The majority of players in many games don't participate in PvP, they simply play the game as PvE. Only to later leave the game when PvE gets nerfed in response to PvPer's pleas. Why should developers make changes to a game that affect both PvP and PvE when only one of the two is asking for change? By making a game to fit how PKs want to play, the gameplay is essentially ruined for casual gamers who enjoy PvE. If people want a harder game, sure make it harder, but let those who don't want the harder setting chose to continue with what was already in place. Don't force it on them. If people play on the hardest setting and claim it's too easy for certain reasons, don't change it so that easy becomes normal, normal becomes hard, and hard becomes insane. Make another difficulty, make an insane mode for the really hardcore players. When developers listen to, and make changes to satisfy, those who prefer PK, they ruin a game for those who don't. Why make the world to satisfy a wolf and damn the sheep, so to speak. Think of the majority of people who don't post in forums because they like the way a game is as a gorilla and follow this: "Consideration: In everything you do, try not to piss off the giant ****ing gorilla." To any offended by that statement and/or language in it, I would apologize, but I'm tired to death of being hampered by those who are too overly sensitive to such things. Grow up and deal with it. EDIT: Have who different settings for skills/damage/mana/hp/etc... for those in PvP areas, and have the old settings for everywhere else. If people want to fight each other, they can do so in a PvP arena.

Nope, just installed v1.6 yesterday, loading a v1.5 save game though. The cave called the "Beaver Kettle Cave" still teleports you accross the Gon, to a Maliel Shrien (that is not registered on the map) onto a beach in the north-east of Ashos.

Just double checked, this nice new cave only seems to work if you start a new char under v1.6, then it loads properly. Nice cave BTW

Hi everyone, I am new here.
The game update from gamershell comes with a trojan zlob virus. It is one of the damned viruses who steals people`s informaton created by some people who have no respect for the privacy of the people. After several hours of downloading over 1 GB patch, I was completely dissappointed and uninstalled the game and deleted everything related to two worlds including anything in registry. What is that? Is it a doing of southpeak Interactive or gamershell itself? In any case, I have to blame the distributer company for working with such websites since gamershell is one of the offical download sites directed by Twoworlds offical web site. I am sorry if i come off too rude but you know getting infected by a virus from an offical website puts one on his nerves. Who should we trust then if we can not trust the offical sites? |

I highly doubt they are spreading a virus. The update is available since weeks, noone has such problems with a virus. Surely most of the people have a virus scan installed, me inclusive.
Download the patch from the official site 2-worlds.com

Well after cooling down I started to download from offical website and gonna install the game again since it is a worth-to-play RPG. Zlob is not a virus with high damage potential and it is not infectious. It is all about stealing information from your media use. Probably it was injected to the original patch file by the third party website but the distributor is supposed to control these sites.
I assure you that my antivir caught this virus while trying to install the patch and I am not fabricating it. |

You should also be aware that in the past many virus scanner have reported viruses accidentally.
That happens very often, as you can see f.e. here: http://chaseandsam.com/2007/07/world...us-or-avg.html

It doesn't necessarily have to be a false positive.
Many trojans and viri spread themselves via local networks, and each file "passing" over such a network can be injected with a malware code. Also, should your system have been previously infected by a so-called Rootkit type virus, a virus scanner will never detect it in standard resident protection mode - only when some part of the incoming file has been infected by such a thing (from inside your own PC!) during its time in the temp-folder. There are many possibilities here, none of which are usually the fault of websites hosting some files. Larger files can be meddled with a long way before the download is even completed. On that note, if you are UK/US/AU TW user, you don't need that big file, you just need a 1.5->1.6 patch (under 30 mbs).
